I travel on business A LOT, and this is what I do.
1) expedia, farcast and cheapseats do not carry all airlines, so you will not get the whole picture if you just look at them. For example, JetBlue offers cheap seats from the NY area to many areas of the country but they are not participating in the discount travel sites.
2) Even if you use a discount travel site, try altering your destination or departure airport. sometimes you get better prices (significantly). For example, I needed to fly to Orlando from NJ. My normal airport was Newark and flights were 500. When I switched to fly out of Philadelphia, I got flights for 250. In fact, I could have also flown from Newark to Tampa (75 minutes from Orlando) for around 250 as well. Even if you don't live near enough to a 2nd airport, the chances are good that your destination has another airport option.
3) Try Priceline name your own price. Not just the regular priceline which has prices like expedia and travelocity. Make sure you use the name your own price feature. I use it frequently for Hotels. I bet you can get a great price but there is one catch. You cannot select your travel times (only your travel days). So, if you're willing to fly and leave at any time of the day, Priceline will probably get you a cheap seat.

As a flight attendant myself, I would say, no, it is not possible to fly them for free.
The airline biz has got nothing to give for free these days and they pay big dollars on security and safety, hard to believe that they give free trips. Even as an employee of an airline, I have to pay a fee for my tickets.
Besides, often courier flights leave from cargo areas where "reg." passengers do not have access to them.

most flights are usually cheapest when they are booked a few weeks/months in advanced and in the middle of the week (tuesday, wednesday, thursday). i don't know why they are cheapest in the middle of the week, but trust me when i say that they are! here are a few websites that have cheap flights:

try looking at the internet for last minute deals….coz airlines mostly hike their prices as the date/time of departure comes nearer….so mostly will be difficult….but not impossible…..hope this helps…!!

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
